Engineered for performance and reliability in surveillance deployments, this Zyxel GS1300-series switch brings power and simplicity together for small to medium deployments. Featuring a robust titanium grey chassis designed to blend into security environments, it delivers a dependable, plug-and-play network edge solution that streams bandwidth-hungry cameras with ease. With PoE capabilities, a Gigabit uplink, and a compact footprint, this unmanaged PoE switch is ideal for expanding IP cameras, wireless access points, and other PoE-enabled devices without the complexity of managed networking.

The GS1300 series stands out in surveillance-ready design, focusing on delivering enough PoE budget to power multiple cameras and edge devices while maintaining reliable, consistent performance. Its hardware is purpose-built for continuous operation in security setups, offering a large PoE budget across models (from around 130W up to 250W depending on the exact model) to accommodate higher power devices like high-definition cameras, PTZ cameras, and multi-antenna access points. If you’re building or expanding a surveillance system, this 8-port GbE unmanaged PoE switch with GbE uplink provides the essential power and connectivity you need without unnecessary management overhead.

In a world where security systems demand reliability and minimal downtime, the Zyxel GS1300 series delivers. The switch’s unmanaged nature means you can deploy it quickly—just plug in cameras, uplink to your NVR or router, and you’re ready to monitor. The titanium-grey exterior isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a practical design choice that resists the rigors of placement in server rooms, closets, and on-site two-post racks. Its fanless design ensures quiet operation, so it won’t contribute noise to your surveillance workspace. And because the device supports standard PoE, you can power cameras and other PoE-enabled devices directly from the switch, reducing the need for extra adapters and power outlets along the camera lines.

Whether you’re outfitting a small storefront, a school corridor, or a small business campus, this unit supports your growth trajectory. Its Gigabit uplink provides ample throughput for high-definition video streams and rapid data transfer to your central NVR or server. With energy-efficient design and a focus on security deployments, the switch integrates neatly into existing networks while offering the essential features you need to ensure cameras stay powered and connected around the clock. For installers and IT professionals, the GS1300 series represents a practical balance of performance, reliability, and value—vital characteristics in modern IP surveillance systems.

  • Surveillance-ready Power for IP Cameras: This 8-port PoE switch is designed to deliver reliable Power over Ethernet to multiple IP cameras and other PoE devices, simplifying cabling and ensuring continuous operation for surveillance, access points, and edge devices. • Plug-and-Play Unmanaged Simplicity: No complex configuration required. Simply connect cameras and PoE devices to the PoE ports, attach the GbE uplink to your NVR or network core, and your security system is ready to capture footage. Ideal for installations where quick deployment and reliability matter more than advanced management features.
  • Gigabit Uplink for Fast Backhaul: A dedicated Gigabit Ethernet uplink provides fast, stable backhaul to your NVR, server, or router, ensuring smooth video streams and responsive network performance across the surveillance environment. This uplink capability helps prevent bottlenecks in small to mid-sized deployments.
  • Rugged, Security-focused Design: The GS1300 Series features a purpose-built titanium-grey exterior designed for surveillance environments, with a compact, durable form factor that fits neatly in cabinets, closets, or on a desktop. Its silent, fanless operation minimizes noise while delivering dependable PoE-powered performance around the clock.
  • Flexibility and Scale for Surveillance Growth: Whether you’re expanding an existing camera network or starting a new one, the 8-port PoE switch supports incremental growth with a single point of management: the power budget scales as you add cameras, and the unmanaged nature allows rapid installation across multiple locations without specialized IT expertise.

How to Install ZYXEL 8-Port GbE Unmanaged PoE Switch with GbE Uplink

Installing this switch is designed to be a straightforward, one-step process toward a working, surveillance-ready network. Follow these practical steps to ensure your cameras come online quickly and reliably.

  1. Choose the placement: Position the switch in a secure, ventilated location such as a equipment cabinet, network rack, or a sturdy desk/shelving unit. Ensure it’s within reach of power and network cables. The compact design and quiet operation make it suitable for data closets or surveillance rooms.
  2. Connect PoE devices: Plug your PoE-capable cameras, access points, and other PoE devices into the 8 PoE ports. Use standard Ethernet cables (Cat5e/6) for stable power and data delivery. The PoE budget will be allocated automatically to connected devices up to the model’s maximum budget.
  3. Attach the uplink to your network: Connect a Cat5e/6 cable from the switch’s GbE uplink port to your NVR, network switch, or router. This uplink provides the data path to storage, management software, and the broader network.
  4. Power up and test: Plug in the switch to a reliable power source. Once powered, the PoE ports deliver power to connected devices automatically. Check the status indicators (LEDs) on the front panel to confirm link/activity and PoE power where applicable.
  5. Verify operation: On your NVR or video management software, confirm that cameras appear in the device list and are streaming. If a camera is not powering on, verify the PoE budget allocation and ensure the device is within power requirements and cable quality thresholds.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does the Zyxel GS1300 8-port PoE switch support PoE on all ports?

A: Yes. This model provides PoE on its 8 Ethernet ports, enabling power delivery to multiple IP cameras and other PoE-enabled devices, up to the model’s total PoE budget.

Q: What devices can I power with this switch?

A: Typical PoE devices include IP cameras, PoE wireless access points, VoIP phones, and other network endpoints that support IEEE 802.3af/at PoE. Always check the device’s power requirements against the switch’s PoE budget to ensure adequate power is available.

Q: Is this switch suitable for rack mounting or only for desktops?

A: The GS1300 series is designed with versatility in mind. Depending on the exact model, it can be deployed on a desktop or mounted in a rack or cabinet to fit security or IT infrastructure layouts. Always verify the mounting options for your chosen model.

Q: Can I manage the switch remotely?

A: The GS1300 8-port model described here is unmanaged, meaning it is plug-and-play and does not offer remote or web-based management features. For those who require centralized management, consider a managed Zyxel switch in the GS-series lineup.

Q: What is the PoE budget, and how many cameras can I power?

A: PoE budgets vary by model within the GS1300 Series. This particular 8-port PoE switch belongs to the higher-power tier with budgets typically ranging from about 130 W to 250 W across different variants. The actual number of cameras powered depends on the individual camera’s power draw (e.g., 5–15 W per camera) and the total combined load. Plan accordingly to ensure the total does not exceed the switch’s PoE budget.

One of my favorites because it doesn't sting my eyes
Style: SPF 50
This was my first time purchasing this from Amazon though I've bought this product elsewhere before. This is a sunscreen I come back to because I can use it on my body and it works relatively well on my face as well. It is hydrating and can give a matte-ish looking finish although on my face I'd say it leaves more of a dewy look because I put moisturizer on prior to applying. I've seen a few reviews mention there is pilling when applying to the face and while I've had that happen it's normally only during the day when I reapply. I think that first thing in the morning I don't really have that issue because of the moisturizer I put on before- I let the moisturizer soak in a bit before going in with the sunscreen. My favorite thing about this sunscreen is that it doesn't sting my eyes, I've worn it out on 90+ SoCal heat and it has not stung my eyes- there's been numerous sunscreen I like on my face but don't repurchase because even mid-80"s heat causes them to run and both sting and blur my vision. As for my giving this a 4 rather than a 5 it is because it leaves a mild white cast after I apply it norming and reapplying throughout the day. The mild white cast does eventually go away but it does take some time, though that is the one downsides I am glad that I'm at least not forced to sport a ghost-ish face all day. In all honestly, the cast is only mild when compared to others like the New "Sheer" Bluelizard SPF 50 face lotion, among others. I'm a little jealous of others who say they don't have a white cast at all but different products react differently with different people so I know it might just be a "me thing." Overall this is one of the sheer and non-tinted sunscreens I am happiest with and will repurchase again as needed unless I stumble onto that unicorn 50 broad spectrum SPF, cast free, no eye burning/ irritating, and reasonably priced and sized sunscreen =)

Protección efectiva y aroma tropical delicioso
Style: SPF 50

Great sunscreen!
Style: SPF 50
This sunscreen is a very affordable price, and it is very matte on the face, leaves almost no white cast, and isn't oily at all on my combination skin. It works great under makeup too. I use this daily after my moisturizer, and its super lightweight. Great affordable option for oily skinned people.

Don’t buy
Style: SPF 50
I love Hawaiian Tropic but this product is terrible. It smells good, but it makes you super white and is hard to rub in. Imagine rubbing glue between your fingers when it’s dry, that’s the kind of white residue left all over you. Wouldn’t buy this specific Hawaiian Tropic product again. Stick to the basic products they offer
