Her current work centers on constructing layered, dimensional collages in response to the motifs and palette of the natural world.She meticulously hand-cuts, paints, and layers archival papers to create depth and movement within her compositions, inviting an interplay between light, shadow, and texture. These works are quietly autobiographical, evoking "remembered landscapes"and marking the passage of seasons, times of day, and significant moments. Elissa lives and works on the North Shore of Boston, where she enjoys experiencing the natural world with her family. Her work is in private and corporate collections across the country.

"A Space to Hold You"
In beginning this series, I was drawn to images of nests, their fiercely organic and embracing shapes, and how repetitive, obsessive action from their makers transforms fragile materials into protective sculptures of shelter. Each collage hints at the nest motif, through soft, rounded compositions and layers of color, both natural and playfully saturated. This series is a reflection on "shelter" and my complex desires as a new parent for my daughter’s safety and freedom.
