Founded in 1897, Futagami historically designed Buddhist statues and altar pieces cast from solid brass. In 2009 a collaboration with designer Oji Masanori brought the brand up to date. Masanori designed everyday lifestyle items, using the same skilful brass casting techniques - fusing tradition with modernity. Two sides of this solid brass Triangle paperweight feature a smooth, brushed finish, whilst the other sides remain unfinished. This shows-off the brand's raw sand-casting process, and gives a nice textural contrast when the piece is held. This weighty little paperweight will pin-down your letters, business cards & receipts.

Selector's Notes

We love using the solid brass paperweights from Futagami as office toys & focusing tools, feeling the differences in texture and the sharp angles of the paperweights. Two other shapes are offered in the range, making a neat little set.
