Tripp Lite by Eaton NetCommander 32-Port Cat5 KVM over IP Switch - 2 Remote + 1 Local User, 16 USB Dongles, 1U Rack-Mount, TAA

The Tripp Lite by Eaton NetCommander 32-Port Cat5 KVM over IP Switch is engineered for seamless, secure, and scalable control of an entire server fleet—from a single workstation in your data center to remote locations thousands of miles away. This high-performance KVM over IP switch consolidates management of up to 32 connected hosts, giving you flexible access for two remote operators and one local console. Designed for demanding IT environments, it combines rugged reliability with a compact 1U rack-mount form factor and a complete bundle of USB dongles to simplify client connections. If you’re looking to streamline multi-Server administration, reduce on-site visits, and improve incident response times, NetCommander delivers the precise blend of performance and ease of use your environment demands.

  • Flexible remote and local access: Manage up to two remote users concurrently while keeping a local console available for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, or BIOS-level tasks. This split-access model helps operations stay productive without bottlenecks.
  • 32-Port Cat5 KVM over IP switch: Centralize administration across a large pool of servers and network devices. The Cat5-based KVM over IP solution enables remote control, keyboard/mouse input, and video transmission across standard Ethernet networks, reducing the need for physical presence in the data center.
  • 16 USB dongles included for client connections: Each client workstation can securely connect to the switch using one of the included USB dongles, simplifying access management and ensuring that only authorized devices can connect to the KVM session.
  • 1U rack-mount chassis, compact and scalable: The slim 1U form factor fits neatly into standard racks, saving precious data-center space while scaling to growing server farms without sacrificing performance or ease of deployment.
  • TAA-compliant for government procurement: The unit meets Trade Agreements Act requirements, making it a suitable choice for federal, state, and other government deployments that require compliant hardware.

How to install Tripp Lite by Eaton NetCommander 32-Port Cat5 KVM over IP Switch

  • Prepare the rack space: Select a clean, ventilated 19-inch rack location and mount the 1U NetCommander unit using standard rack rails or hardware provided with the kit.
  • Plan cabling: Map each of the 32 host systems to its respective KVM port. Route power cables and ensure adequate separation from network and other critical lines to minimize interference.
  • Connect servers and devices: Attach keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) cables from each host to the corresponding ports on the NetCommander switch. Ensure video signal paths are stable and that port labels match the connected hosts for easy identification.
  • Integrate network management: Connect the switch to your management network using an appropriate Ethernet port. This enables secure remote access and centralized administration from supported clients and control consoles.
  • Register USB dongles and client devices: Distribute the 16 included USB dongles to authorized client machines. Insert each dongle into its respective client and pair against the NetCommander switch per the on-screen prompts or included setup guide.
  • Power up and configure: Apply power to the unit and perform the initial configuration using the local console. Set up admin accounts, network settings (IP address, gateway, DNS as needed), and user permissions for remote and local access.
  • Test remote connections: From a remote workstation, install the client software or use the browser-based console to connect to the NetCommander switch. Verify keyboard, video, and mouse responses across multiple hosts and confirm that two remote sessions plus a local session operate without conflict.
  • Establish security and access policies: Configure user roles, session permissions, and password policies. Consider enabling encrypted sessions and audit logging if supported by your firmware for enhanced security and change tracking.
  • Document and label: Create a clear map of port-to-host assignments and label USB dongles. Maintain up-to-date documentation to simplify future maintenance, scaling, or troubleshooting.

Broke within an hour of assembly.
Size: 6 Panel-120"W, Color: Beige
This is of horrible quality. Within an hour of building, the feet support were broken on both ends, where they spin in place & do not stay straight to hold the divider up. Pieces of the plastic on the feet were broken simply from assembling the product. The covers for the metal poles were the only reason I bought this divider instead of other similar products, however those only cover one side of the metal poles so they are still visible from the other side. Two of these covers were also torn & not useable within an hour of assembly, one was already partially ripped on arrival & the other one was ripped simply during assembly of the product. I do not recommend this item & would have returned if I was still in the return window. I missed the return window because the product was bought during the holidays & I didn’t have time to mess with the return. I have not been able to use this product even once, the broken feet which do not stay in place make it very unstable & dangerous.

Great Dividers
Size: 6 Panel-120"W, Color: Beige
Love these!! Many uses. Simple, nice looking, sturdy overall. Well made. Bought to divide the unsightly storage area from the calm rest area in the basement. Also, these worked well for our garage party where the dividers let light and air in, though blocked the view of our party area from the cars driving by.
