Your Favorite Toy is the twelfth studio album from Foo Fighters and the first to feature drummer Ilan Rubin, following 2023’s But Here We Are. Recorded at Dave Grohl’s home studio and Studio 606, and co-produced with Oliver Roman, the album grew out of a broad set of demos before settling into a louder, more direct rock approach inspired by the band’s earlier roots.

The title track, released with the album announcement, set the tone for the record and pointed toward a return to high energy, guitar driven songwriting. Grohl and Rubin tracked the rhythm parts live without a click, giving the album a more immediate feel, while its concise runtime makes it the shortest studio album in the band’s catalogue.

Arriving after a period of transition for the band, Your Favorite Toy continues forward while reconnecting with elements of the sound that defined Foo Fighters’ earlier work.
