Beautifully simple and functional, our hand woven tea towels feature a wide border stripe on the edges. Made with a twill weave, they nicely complement the other items in the hand woven kitchen and table range.

Handloom textiles have been woven by generations of Sri Lankan villagers, using
techniques originally taught by temple priests. Our textiles are hand made by our
gifted artisan weavers in Divulapitiya, on simple wooden frames, weaving by
treading pedals to lift the warp threads, while feeding the bobbin through the
weft with amazing dexterity. 
We have made a long term commitment to design training within the community,
to embrace the continuity of the craft, and bring new life to this ancient tradition,
by blending authentic weaves with contemporary design.

Wash & Care Instructions
Our 100% cotton hand loomed textiles only need simple care for preservation and longevity.
Hand-wash using warm water and a mild detergent, followed by a gentle wring or spin.
Straighten any fringe detail and then it can be dried on a washing line or flat on a towel, followed by a light steam iron, to avoid crushing the natural hand woven texture.

Alternatively, dry cleaning is also possible.
