Fix using appropriate handrail brackets spaced no more than 1.2m apart, ensuring the rail is supported at both ends and at any intermediate newel posts. Once fitted, apply a suitable hardwood oil or stain promptly to protect the surface and maintain the natural colour of the white oak.

What is the difference between a no groove handrail and a grooved handrail?
A no groove handrail has a plain underside with no channel cut into it. A grooved handrail has one or more channels machined underneath to accept spindles or infill panels directly. If you are using separate brackets and newel posts rather than slotting components into the rail, the no groove profile is the correct choice.
Can this white oak handrail be cut to a shorter length on site?
Yes. White oak cuts cleanly with a fine-tooth saw. Mark your cut line accurately, support the rail fully on both sides of the cut, and seal the end grain immediately after cutting with an end-grain sealer or the same oil or stain you are using on the rest of the rail.
