Daredevil, Doctor…Dad! - Anne Fraser

Air rescue doc William ‘Mac’ MacNeil is St. Piran’s resident daredevil…and playboy! He’s used to women falling at his feet — everyone except new nurse Abby Stevens!

Mac’s roguish charm gives Abby butterflies — but are they in anticipation of his delicious kisses…or of the bombshell she’s about to drop that will turn his life upside down?

The Brooding Heart Surgeon - Alison Roberts

Everyone at the hospital has fallen under Dr Luke Davenport’s spell! But Anna Bartlett is certain the ex-army medic is hiding something. Actions speak louder than words, and the tightness of his grip and the shadows behind his once sparkling eyes don’t align with the words, ‘I’m fine.’

She should remain professional, but Anna’s longing to be the one to save Luke from his nightmares — if only she can reach out to the man behind the brooding mask…

The Fireman And Nurse Loveday - Kate Hardy

School nurse and local wallflower Flora Loveday would rather spend time with her pupils than even think about dating — until smoking hot firefighter Tom Nicholson enters her life. But Tom’s interest in her is just because she’s put a smile on his troubled young nephew’s face — isn’t it?

Whilst Flora’s bond with little Joey is invaluable, Tom has to admit he wants her around for other reasons. Flora has a beauty strangely overlooked by others, but Tom’s going to awaken the passion she tries desperately to hide…

Easy Read with good case studies!!
Format: Paperback
I had to purchase this for my Advanced Pathophysiology class in my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. It is very easy to understand and have pretty good case studies. I like that the CD that accompanies the book goes into some detail in explaining the cases further and the disease processes without giving you the answers to the questions. It stimulates one to think!! Once this class is over I will go back from time to time to review!!

Helpful
Format: Paperback
This is a nice compliment to other classroom instruction materials. I am teaching an advanced pathophysiology course in a nurse practitioner program. This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting. Will use these for in-class group assignments. Case-studies are thorough and offer a variety of different disease processes to choose from. It certainly does not offer a case study for every possible disease or clinical scenario, but does cover most major areas and enough variety in my opinion. Should be helpful in reinforcing the clinical significance of some difficult to understand concepts. I would recommend this text to course instructors.

Good book!
Format: Paperback
Very helpful book for pathophysiology. The CD not only gives you answers to the case studies but gives you clear details of the clinical Pathophysiology of a particular disease. Definitely recommend it to students going for their Master's degree!

No Answers Provided to Case Studies
Format: Paperback
The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases--not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient's chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . ) I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I'm skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.
