Throughout his teaching life he has always painted, being of the belief that an art teacher should also be a practising artist. Now retired from the post of Principal Teacher of Art at Craigmount High School in Edinburgh, he can devote more time and energy to painting. Together with his

Together with his wife Val (a stained glass artist and teacher) they have renovated various properties in Edinburgh, Arran and the Borders.
