It can be kicked (with think boots not running shoes), thrown, or rolled by the dog if you have one of those types. One of my dogs is a chewer and he hasn't put a dent in it, in months. The ball bounces when kicked/thrown and makes that odd noise when its hit just right so its extra entertaining for the dogs but also let's our blind dog know where its at. Can't say enough good things about this ball, worth trying for sure! It's also easy to drop in the creek, sink or tub to rinse off.

To the point I had to stop giving it to my dog because he squeaked it so much I felt it was disturbing the neighbors. So overall, wouldn’t recommend unless you have a lot of land, plan on using it indoors, and don’t have a super chewer dog.
