The Reproduction Staunton Ebony Chessmen 1869 Model is an imposing set of chessmen boasting a 10.2 cm king, including the royal finial. With their highly detailed and superb finish, these beautiful pieces are supplied by the same chess workshop that produces some of the world's finest chessmen. They have been turned from solid wood and then painstakingly carved with exquisite detailing on all the pieces, but especially the knights.

A commissioned design made by Rechapados Ferrer S.A. of Spain, the board is of a high-grade veneer construction, implementing beautiful black anegre around the border and edges of the board. At 60 cm in width and with a square size of 6 cm, this deluxe chessboard is substantial in size. The playing surface is created from veneer squares of jet black anegre wood and light maple wood. It is then finished in a rich, deep gloss lacquer, creating a chess playing surface with the deepest of blacks. Perfect for these chess pieces.

To ensure safe storage of pieces when not in play, this perfectly constructed laminated wenge coloured large wooden Chess Piece case is the finishing touch to this magnificent set. Manufactured by the famous family-run company, Manopoulos of Greece, you can rest assured it has been well made by expert craftsmen. Featuring a large compartment together with the addition of brass colour hinges and the Manopoulos signature brass clasps to keep the lid closed, the resulting product is a timeless classic.
