Using acetate film - also called cake edge film - simply line the edge of your dish with the transparent plastic film before pouring in the mixture, and a perfect result is guaranteed. Since the film is safe for food use and is sold by the meter, you can cut the right length as required with scissors. If your cakes and desserts will be waiting a while after they have been made before being eaten and will be presented in a display case or on a buffet, for example, leave the cake edge film in place to protect it from drying out and only remove it just before serving.
