Each placemat displays a unique abstract coastal design inspired by famous Cornish coves including Daymer Bay, St George’s Cove, Trevone Bay, and Constantine Bay. The artwork was originally created by Falmouth University design students as part of a competition launched by Rick Stein to celebrate Cornwall’s coastline and seaside heritage. The vivid blue and white watercolour patterns add a fresh nautical feel to dining tables while complementing coastal, modern, and contemporary kitchen interiors.
The placemats are made from cork-backed laminated MDF, offering excellent protection against heat, scratches, spills, and everyday wear. Their durable wipe-clean surface makes them suitable for daily family dining, entertaining guests, and decorative table settings. Presented in a gift box, the set also makes an ideal housewarming or kitchen gift.
