Mopeka TD40 Ultrasonic Bluetooth Tank Level Sensor: Precision Monitoring for Critical Liquid Assets

Engineered Accuracy for Demanding Tank Level Applications

The Mopeka TD40 Ultrasonic Tank Level Sensor delivers high-resolution liquid measurement for professionals managing propane, LPG, water, and other stored liquids. Using advanced ultrasonic technology, this sensor reads levels down to 0.25 mm (0.01 inch), providing the data integrity needed for inventory control, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. Its long-range Bluetooth (BLE) connectivity integrates directly with the Tank Check or Co-Pilot app, transforming your smartphone or tablet into a centralised monitoring dashboard.

Unlike conventional float-based or capacitive sensors, the TD40 mounts externally to the tank bottom, eliminating contact with the liquid. This non-invasive design reduces corrosion risk, simplifies installation, and ensures consistent performance across a wide range of tank heights up to 4.88 metres (16 feet). Whether you are managing a single residential LPG tank or a fleet of commercial vessels, the TD40 provides reliable, repeatable measurements without the maintenance burden of traditional probes.

Key Technical Advantages

  • Sub-millimetre resolution: Measures liquid levels to 0.25 mm, enabling precise inventory tracking and leak detection.
  • Extended battery service: Powered by 2x AA Energizer Ultimate Lithium cells, delivering up to 5 years of operation for minimal field intervention.
  • Boosted Bluetooth range: Long-range BLE ensures stable data transmission through tank walls and across typical installation distances.
  • Multi-commodity support: Select propane, butane, water, or custom liquids directly in the app for automatic volume calculations.
  • Cloud-enabled data: AWS-powered backend allows remote monitoring, historical trending, and multi-user access via the Co-Pilot platform.
  • Victron integration ready: Seamlessly connects with Victron GX devices for unified energy system monitoring.

Installation and Integration

The TD40 requires a 50.8 mm (2-inch) threaded port or a 50.8 mm diameter hole cut into the tank top. This standardised footprint simplifies retrofitting into existing tank infrastructure. Once installed, the sensor pairs with the free Tank Check or Co-Pilot app, available for iOS and Android. The app provides real-time level readings, low-level alerts, and usage history, helping you avoid run-outs and optimise refill scheduling.

For off-grid and mobile applications, the TD40’s low power consumption and robust BLE link make it ideal for caravans, RVs, and marine vessels where reliable tank monitoring is critical but access is limited. The sensor’s solid-state design withstands vibration and temperature extremes, ensuring dependable operation in harsh environments.

Why Choose Ultrasonic Over Traditional Sensors?

Traditional mechanical float sensors are prone to sticking, corrosion, and inaccurate readings due to sludge or sediment. Capacitive probes require tank wall penetration and are sensitive to liquid dielectric changes. The Mopeka TD40’s ultrasonic pulse technology measures the time-of-flight from the sensor to the liquid surface, unaffected by liquid composition, temperature stratification, or tank material. This results in a maintenance-free solution that maintains accuracy over years of service, reducing total cost of ownership and operational risk.

Applications

  • Caravan and RV fresh water and LPG tanks
  • Marine fuel and water storage
  • Off-grid residential propane and water systems
  • Industrial chemical and process liquid inventory
  • Tiny home utility monitoring

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
