Unlike the name suggest, the essential oil of Tea Tree is not extracted from the plant of common tea. Neither it is synonymous to Tea Oil, which is extracted from the seed of Tea plant. Instead, it is extracted through steam distillation of twigs and leaves of Tea Tree, whose botanical name is Melaleuca Alternifolia.
Precautions of Tea Tree Essential Oil
Do not apply to skin to be exposed to sunlight or ultraviolet light; it increases the skin’s photo sensitivity. it may irritate sensitive skin.
