Kan worden gebruikt in combinatie met stalbandages of bandages, of gewoon op zichzelf worden gedragen. Een ritssluiting over de volledige lengte maakt het aanbrengen ongelooflijk eenvoudig, en een bovenste riem voorkomt dat de ritssluiting opengaat, waardoor de kous naar beneden rolt. Gladde naaduiteinden voorkomen wrijving of schuren veroorzaakt door de stof rond de koot en het bovenbeen.
