Raul Diaz is of the second sort, choosing as subjects memories and impressions from his childhood, when his father and grandfather took him fishing in the lakes around Cordoba, Argentina where he still resides. Images and textures were etched deep within the soul of this impressionable child and they haunt him still, rising like ghosts -- vague, amorphous, enigmatic -- to shape a world that is, to us the viewers, both familiar and mysterious, both comforting and uneasy. More than 100 large full-color images plus more than 50 smaller full-color images. Beautiful book!
