De tijd aflezen zoals vroeger op volle zee – met "Dennis"!

Als zonnewijzer met ingebouwd kompas kun je met "Dennis" de tijd bepalen, zoals de oude zeelieden dat vroeger deden. Om de tijd af te lezen, ga je op een zonnige plek staan, houd je het horloge recht en richt je het met behulp van het ingebouwde kompas naar het noorden. Als de schaduwwijzer is uitgeklapt, werpt deze een schaduw op de uurring, waar je nu de tijd kunt aflezen. Als de zon een ongunstige hoek heeft, bijvoorbeeld omdat ze 's middags zo hoog staat dat de wijzer geen schaduw werpt, kan dit ook met de klok worden gecorrigeerd. Klap hiervoor de hoekindicator open en kantel de uurring zo ver dat de schaduw van de wijzer weer op de uurring valt. Zelfs Jules Verne zou jaloers zijn op dit juweeltje!
