While fruit juice, jellies, jam, margarine, soap, dika vegetable oil and other derivatives are been made from the fruit of the wild African mango, its kernel, the seed continue to find the widest use and brings in the greatest income.
The seed is ground dried and when used as a soup thickener, produces a thick slippery gelatinous mixture, with a "very rich very earthly" unique flavor also rich in protein.
Like okra, it is used in preparing "draw soup" that brings in a mouth watering tang flavor to the African palate. this soups (draw soups) are popular and found very appetizing, as well as easy eaten because they are great lubricants, helping to slid bolus of starch dough or foofoos down the throat.
Ogbono seed is obtained by collecting the bush mango's seed, split this to obtain a pearly white ovoid kernel that is sun dried.
The kernel is then ground into a powdery form, used as the food thickener. Ogbolo or apon or dika, etima, is perhaps the most powerful of food thickener known to Africans.
A little is need to tremendously increase the viscosity of the soup been cooked.
Traditionally, leafy vegetables, stock fish, dried chili peppers, ground crayfish, kpomo or cow skin, bush meat and other assorted meat are used in preparing the soup that derives its name from this seed.
... A word of warning: when using ogbono seed, make sure you avoid those with damp or greenish brown mold. Those infested with mold should be selected out and thrown away. They contain fungi that produce afla-toxins implicated in some liver diseases.

Great French ress! No plastic. Beautiful look, easy to use & clean. Great value.
This French press is great. Easy to use. Easy to clean. A great size for two. It is all stainless steel and able to be in the dishwasher, but I wash the plunger parts by hand. The lid has NO problem places that could mold that water can get into. It is definitely a good value since it will last for years. It is portable. It is a lovely appearance of stainless - not too modern and not to fancy. The filter system is what one would expect and works so well. This is my first French press but I did lost of research and I feel this is the best for the cost. The coffee is great, the clean up is not a big deal and there is NO plastic involved!!!

High quality french press
I really like this french press. It is made from high quality stainless steel and does not rust or show signs of degradation.
Easy to take apart and clean.
Everything fits and works properly, the filters work fine.
It stays hot for about 3 to 4 hours if filled to capacity.

FIRST use of ziruma french press
This is a great, clean French press with no plastic parts at all.
The filter mesh is excellent, and the brew comes out very clean with minimal sediment.
Quality: Good but not superb.
There is visible welding on the handle (see attached picture). I was expecting it to feel heavier overall — especially the lid, which weighs only about 180g (6.3 oz).
Thicker walls would make the pot heavier and give it a more premium feel.
The lid could really use a lock or twist mechanism to hold it securely in place. With this one, you have to hold the lid down when pouring out the last bits.
All in all, it’s a solid French press that works well for daily coffee use.

Definitely worth the money, Great Product!
Looks great, well built, very solid! Easy to use. I’ve used the glass French press coffee makers in the past and decided to switch to this one. I’m glad I did, the coffee stays hot and there is very, very, very little sludge at the end!! I just wish that I didn’t wait as long as I did to make the purchase! Definitely worth the money! Great buy!
