Krug Rosé 28ème Édition is een uitgesproken gastronomische rosé Champagne die finesse en kracht perfect in balans houdt. In de neus tonen van rode bes, rijpe kers en framboos, aangevuld met rozenblaadjes, sinaasappelschil, zachte specerijen en een subtiele rokerig-minerale toets. In de mond is de wijn breed en gelaagd, met een zeer fijne mousse, een romige maar strakke kern en een opvallend zilt-krijtige grip. De afdronk is lang, mineraal en complex, met aanhoudende citruszeste, kruiden en rood fruit dat langzaam uitwaaiert.

Vinificatie.
Deze 28ème Édition is samengesteld rond de oogst van 2016 en bestaat uit 32 wijnen uit 6 verschillende jaren (jongste 2016, oudste 2010), met ongeveer 38% reservewijnen uit de bibliotheek van het huis. De rosékleur en structuur komen mede van 10% Pinot Noir die als rode wijn werd gemaakt via traditionele schilmaceratie. De basiswijnen worden perceel per perceel gevinifieerd, met een deel dat op kleine eiken vaten wordt opgevoed om textuur en diepte te geven. Na de tweede gisting op fles volgt een zeer lange rijping op de lies (rond 7 jaar) vóór dégorgement, zodat complexiteit, integratie en de typische “vinous” Krug-textuur volledig tot ontwikkeling komen.

Het domein.
Maison Krug (opgericht in 1843) behoort tot de absolute top van Champagne en staat bekend om een unieke, compromisloze benadering: maximale selectie, enorme bibliotheek aan reservewijnen en een stijl die altijd “vineus” en gastronomisch is, met meer nadruk op structuur en complexiteit dan op puur fruit. De huisstijl is gebouwd op precisie en geduld: langzame rijping, minimale concessies en een constante focus op harmonie en lengte.

Sinds 2024 zijn hun eigen wijngaarden (ongeveer 20% van de productie) biologisch gecertificeerd en ondersteunen ze hun partners om tegen 2030 ook dit certificaat te halen.

For those of us who want to contextualize the gospel in pagan contexts, Dr. Michael S. Heiser helps us get beyond our own cultural context to the ancient cultural context of the Bible itself. One could spend years and years researching the ancient contexts of the Bible, but for workers with families and careers other than Dr. Heiser's, the time needed would far exeed what is practical. Thankfully, there is a solution: Dr. Heiser has done a lot of the distilling needed to grasp the basic cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the Bible writers. After presenting the Unseen Realm, Reversing Hermon and I Dare You Not To Bore Me With The Bible, he has done one better here in the Bible Unfiltered. Why do I say better? Well, I would say that as time has gone on, Dr. Heiser's ability to communicate complex topics for the average layman has improved markedly. Get this book, let it whet your appetite, and then please do get Unseen Realm and Reversing Hermon. They will help you to understand the Bible, contextualize the gospel, and offer an entrance to a fantastic intellectual and spiritual journey of a lifetime.
