Voor het eerst vertelt ex-coffeeshophouder Johan van Laarhoven zijn schokkende verhaal over zijn onschuldige gevangenschap in een van de beruchtste gevangenissen van Azië.

In juli 2014 wordt Johan van Laarhoven wereldnieuws, als de Thaise politie zijn villa in Pattaya binnenvalt, waar hij met zijn vrouw en kinderen woont. Van Laarhoven hoopt in Thailand rustig van zijn pensioen te genieten, na het verkopen van zijn vier coffeeshops in Tilburg en Den Bosch. Van Laarhoven krijgt een celstraf opgelegd van honderddrie jaar, zijn vrouw krijgt achttien jaar. Ze worden onder meer veroordeeld voor witwassen, omdat ze in Thailand geld hebben uitgegeven dat Van Laarhoven in Nederland verdiende met de gedoogde verkoop van cannabis. Van Laarhoven wordt opgesloten in Klong Prem, een van de beruchtste gevangenissen van Azië.

Maar zijn zaak – en de dubieuze rol van het Openbaar Ministerie hierin – trekt de aandacht van de media. De Nationale Ombudsman komt met een vernietigend rapport over het handelen van politie, het OM en het ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid.
Onder druk van de Tweede Kamer reist de toenmalig minister van Justitie en Veiligheid naar Thailand voor een gesprek met de Thaise premier. Kort daarna komt er eindelijk een einde aan de onschuldige gevangenschap van Van Laarhoven. 

Nu vertelt hij voor het eerst het verhaal over de mensonterende omstandigheden in de hel van Bangkok. En over zijn strijd met justitie – een strijd die hem zijn gezin kostte.

These are plenty big, so your dog will have a good ol' time with it. Probably won't do much else till it's gone. Not sure "chew" is an accurate description, it's more of a gnawing and slobbering kind of process. Drool seems to soften them up. Don't give them one on the bed or couch. They are hard, resilient, and rather dense, but not crunchy; they don't break up like a biscuit would. And the center is sort of like a very stiff taffy. But it took me way more licks than a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop, I can tell you. Our little dogs tackled one that I cut in half, and they did pretty well. But they really are too big for small dogs.
