De Castello di Neive Langhe DOC Nebbiolo is de toegankelijke interpretatie van Nebbiolo binnen het domein en laat het karakter van de Langhe zien in een iets directere stijl dan Barbaresco. Wat is het verschil tussen Langhe Nebbiolo en Barbaresco? Langhe DOC Nebbiolo kent minder strenge rijpingsvereisten, waardoor de wijn eerder drinkbaar is, terwijl de typische structuur en aromatische kenmerken van Nebbiolo behouden blijven.

Deze wijn is volledig gemaakt van Nebbiolo en afkomstig uit wijngaarden in de Langhe, rondom Neive.

Herkomst: Langhe, Piemonte

De wijngaarden liggen in het heuvelachtige landschap van de Langhe, waar Nebbiolo optimaal kan rijpen.

  • Langhe DOC: bredere herkomstbenaming binnen Piemonte.

  • Heuvelachtige ligging: ondersteunt langzame en gelijkmatige rijping.

  • Kalkrijke mergelbodems: geven structuur en aromatische precisie.

Deze combinatie levert Nebbiolo met frisse zuren en duidelijke tannines, maar in een iets toegankelijkere stijl.

Druif en vinificatie

Nebbiolo – Langhe, Piemonte
Nebbiolo is een laatrijpende druif met hoge zuurgraad en uitgesproken tannines. Binnen Langhe DOC resulteert dit in een wijn met herkenbare structuur, maar doorgaans minder streng dan Barbaresco.

De fermentatie vindt plaats met gecontroleerde extractie om balans tussen fruit en structuur te waarborgen. Aansluitend rijpt de wijn op hout gedurende een kortere periode dan bij Barbaresco, waardoor de wijn zijn frisse fruitkarakter behoudt.

Karakter en drinkvenster

In het glas toont deze Langhe Nebbiolo een heldere robijnrode kleur. Typische aroma’s zijn rood fruit, florale tonen en lichte kruidigheid. De tanninestructuur is aanwezig maar toegankelijker, waardoor de wijn eerder op dronk is dan een Barbaresco.

Serveer rond 16–18 °C om fruit, frisheid en structuur optimaal in balans te ervaren.

Castello di Neive is gevestigd in het historische dorp Neive, in het hart van de Langhe. Het domein beheert wijngaarden in gerenommeerde cru’s zoals Santo Stefano en Gallina en produceert naast Barbaresco ook een Langhe DOC Nebbiolo die het karakter van de regio toegankelijker weergeeft. Door traditie te combineren met moderne vinificatietechnieken bewaart het wijnhuis de identiteit van Nebbiolo uit Neive en de omliggende heuvels.

This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4. Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down. There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.

It would refer to Kelley as him or he, and then again in another part of the story as her she and sister. On to the next book, I hope there is some clarity and a smoother flow.
