God leidde Zijn volk Israël door de woestijn langs een omweg. Daar had Hij Zijn
wijze bedoeling mee. Hij wilde lessen leren die ze anders nooit hadden
gekregen. Ondanks de ongehoorzaamheid van het volk bewees de Heere dagelijks
Zijn trouwe leiding en zorg. Aan het eind van de reis mocht Mozes dan ook
zeggen: 'Deze veertig jaren is de Heere uw God met u geweest; geen ding heeft u
ontbroken.'
Onze levensreis loopt ook door de woestijn. De Heere bestuurt ons leven. Het is
een wonder van genade als Zijn weg ons leidt tot bekering. In het leven van
Gods kinderen gebruikt de Heere de reis door de woestijn om dieper geestelijk
onderwijs te geven.
In Brood in de woestijn belicht ds. Maljaars hoe de Heere Zijn volk tijdens de
reis door de wildernis voorzag in alles wat nodig is. Ze ontvingen Zijn
bescherming, maar ook Zijn terechtwijzing. De auteur trekt verschillende lijnen
naar het leven van elke dag. Daarbij wordt steeds heengewezen naar de Heere
Jezus Christus, als het levende Brood. Uiteindelijk moet alles in de woestijn
van ons leven leiden naar Hem, in Wie het leven ligt.

We've happily used OxyFresh pet water additive for probably around 15 years. I love that product, so I figured their toys would be great too. Not so much. The concept seems good. This does feel like a heavy duty rubber and it feels like a sturdy construction, but in actuality, it did not hold up. Without a goal like food in it, my two dogs had 0 interest in this. It says you can put a treat in it. I wrestled to put a piece of kibble in the jaws of this toy, but that was tough and there isn't much room in there. That did pique their interest. Both my boys are about 50 lbs. One is a heavy chewer and the other is pretty gentle mouthed with toys. BOTH dogs were taking chunks out of this immediately. I must say that I'm really disappointed. If the rubber held up, this is a fantastic concept and seemed like it would work very well to clean teeth. Unfortunately for us, this was an expensive toy that began to fail within about 15 minutes of what seemed to be very average use. We'll be continuing to use a toothbrush instead.
