Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’ groeit goed op vrijwel alle grondsoorten en doet het zowel in zon, halfschaduw als schaduw. De plant is winterhard en onderhoudsarm. Licht snoeien helpt om de vorm compact en vol te houden.
