Ook fruit is goed te fermenteren. Denk dan vooral aan perziken, pruimen, abrikozen en exotisch fruit als ananas en mango.
Een aantal fermentatieregels:
Hoe langer je fermenteert, hoe sterker en zuurder de smaken.
Hoe meer warmte en hoe hoger de luchtvochtigheid, hoe sneller het fermentatieproces gaat.Houd kamertemperatuur aan.
Zout zet de fermentatie in gang. Gebruik ca. 2% zout op het groentegewicht.
Gebruik je te weinig zout, dan worden de groenten minder knapperig.
Gebruik
Zo maak je je je eigen pickle: Stap 1: doe 400 g van je favoriete fijngesneden groente (of fruit) in de pickle pers. Stap 2: Voeg 2 el genmai su, ume su of mirin toe. Stap 3: Voeg 1 tl kruiden toe (optioneel). Stap 4: kneed 6-8 g zout door de groente (2% van het groentegewicht). Stap 5: heb een paar uur geduld. 1 uur voor een licht gefermenteerde smaak, een aantal dagen voor een écht gefermenteerde smaak. Met 4 uur zit je altijd goed. Proef tot je het lekker vindt! Stap 6: Giet de pickle af en breng je pickle op smaak met bijvoorbeeld umeboshi, furikake of tahin. Stap 7: bewaar je pickle 3 dagen in de koelkast.

Lucky loves everything about this (blue) octopus. It has squeakers in all the right places and the crinkle sound adds to his fun. He’s almost 70lbs and extremely strong, and can be an aggressive player and chewer. So far, it has held up extremely well for the tug-of-war games and crazy shaking play. It’s well worth the money. I also want to mention that this toy is true to size. I have too often ordered dog toys that turned out to be much smaller than advertised.

Cute, soft, quiet and durable
This stuffy is HUGE! I was expecting it to be half this size. We're happy to have a stuffy that does *NOT* have a squeaker. We're finding it to be very sturdy. My 4 month old puppy is a terrier mix and she loves to attack and shake stuffies and you can't tell this thing has been abused at all. Looks the same a 2 weeks later as it did new. It's one of her favorites and we love it because its quiet. Should last a long time.
This is an update 4 months after purchase. The red squirrel continues to be a favorite with my puppy. With other plush toys, she tears them apart in 10 minutes. This one, somehow, has lasted months. Over time, she has pulled off the tail, the ears, and two of the legs, but the body is still intact. Amazing!

My dog freakin’ LOVES this
Favorite toy of my dog. He’s a heavy chewer - and yes, he’s chewed the tail off and one of the ears - but he carries it around all the time - plays with it all the time - even sleeps with it. And it has held up for months. I’m getting another one just to have as a backup as I don’t think he can live without it. Also love that the eyes are embroidered and not plastic so he won’t accidentally swallow them. Best toy ever.

Finally!
I search constantly for toys without a squeaker and never seem to find one. My curious pup loves ripping them out so I stay away from them. But finally one that he loves but has no interest in tearing apart because it has no squeaker!! Win!
