Bodega Dehesa El Carrascal werd in 1962 opgericht door Padres Familias Don Arsenio García Cañada. Hij maakte decennia lang wijnen van de lokale ster, de druif Garnacha Tintorera. Rond de eeuwwisseling werd aangevangen met de bouw van het huidige wijndomein gelegen tussen de dorpen Alpera en Bonete in de DO Almansa net ten noorden van het meer bekende wijngebied Yecla in het zuid oosten van Spanje. Vandaag de dag wordt de wijnmakerij gerund door de 2e en 3e generatie van dit familiebedrijf. In dit warme en droge klimaat streeft men ernaar om moderne wijnen te maken. Uiteraard is de grote ster de Garnache tintorera, maar op de veelal minimaal 50 jaar oude wijngaarden staan ook meer internationale druivenrassen zoals Merlot en Syrah aangeplant.

Stoere, volle en fruitrijke Petit Verdot afkomstig van wijngaarden op 900 meter boven zeeniveau. Na de oogst rijpt de wijn nog 12 maanden op Frans en Amerikaans eikenhout. Veel geconcentreerd zwart fruit en kruidigheid.
