Tommasi Riserva Ca Florian Amarone is het paradepaardje, een regelrechte koningswijn en het kroonjuweel van dit fenomenale Italiaanse wijnhuis. Alleen maar superlatieven voor deze kanjer uit het Amarone gebied. Voordat deze Italiaanse wijn de kelders verlaat, heeft zij al ruim 8 jaar gerijpt. Inderdaad, je leest het goed. Pas na 8 jaar wordt de wijn goed genoeg bevonden voor consumptie. Na de oogst rijpt Tommasi Riserva Ca Florian Amarone eerst 4 jaar op houten vaten van 500 liter. Hierna gaat de wijn nog 3 jaar op Sloveens eiken. Ten slotte rijpt deze wijn uit Italië nog 12 maanden op fles, waarna het de kelders van Tommasi mag verlaten. Een enorme krachtpatser vol elegantie. Zo kunnen wij Tommasi Riserva Ca Florian Amarone het beste omschrijven. Dat kan ook niet anders na zo een enorm lang rijpingsproces. Tommasi zelf noemt deze Italiaanse wijn een wijn vol persoonlijkheid. Complex en sierlijk in de geur met een rijk boeket van zwart fruit. Tonen van pruimen, kersen en verse bramen komen je neus tegemoet. Maar ruik nogmaals aan Tommasi Riserva Ca Florian Amarone: je ontdekt tevens rood fruit. Kruiden. Maar ook een toets van balsamico en donkere chocolade. Een heerlijke wijn waar je lekker met je neus in kan hangen. Maar nu wordt het toch echt tijd om een slok te nemen van deze krachtpatser van Tommasi. Een ware tsunami van smaak walst rond in je mond. Donker fruit, rood fruit, pepers en specerijen. Wauw wauw wauw. Bovendien is de rode wijn super zacht. Een plaatje. Wellicht de mooiste wijn die wordt geproduceerd in de Amarone!Shipping Notes

It doesn’t even fit
It doesn’t fit our Breville Barista Pro because the portafilter head is too tall. Such a disappointment.
Update: Absolutely horrible customer support as well. Their only attempt to rectify the situation was by double checking their own portafilter they have and confirming it works. It’s equivalent of “we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.” No replacements, no willingness to accept constructive criticism in order to change the dimensions slightly by decreasing the height of the portafilter head by even a millimeter to make it work, nothing. Just a slap in the face telling me to return it and be gone. Avoid this product.

More work than it’s worth
It was great quality and the weight was nice, but it was odd having the open bottom and no spout to dribble into a cup when making an espresso. It was difficult to get the wire tool out of the end of the handle, making it difficult to use. I was not that impressed and it’s quite expensive.

Quality and Function
Looks like a silly little thing, I am not a coffee enthusiast. But it does exactly what it is supposed to do and with high quality. The device (a stretch to call it that) is made of sturdy materials including the needles. They give you two different thicknesses of needles, one for expressi (0.3) and one set for coffee grinds (0.4). Each comes wth some spares. The stand is well designed and keeps grinds from spreading all over. It is very elegant design. I use this with a dosing funnel on my portafilter. Not the cheapest one could buy but well worth the money.

Perfect WDT tool
Best WDT I’ve found. Love that it includes 0.3mm needles (as I’ve found that 0.4mm needles push the grounds around too much), and the stand is very clever. It knocks off the residual grounds on the needles and is easy to use. As far as WDT tools go, I can’t imagine anything better.
