Mangohout is een bijzonder sterke en duurzame houtsoort uit India. Doordat mangobomen snel groeien, zijn ze al na ongeveer 15 jaar volgroeid – veel sneller dan bijvoorbeeld eikenbomen. Zodra de fruitopbrengst afneemt, worden de bomen vervangen door jonge exemplaren. Het hout van de oudere bomen krijgt zo een tweede leven als meubel.
