MANSTEIN, Christoph Hermann von. Memoirs of Russia, Historical, Political, and Military, from the Year MDCCXXVII, to MDCCXLIV. A Period Comprehending many Remarkable Events. In Particular the Wars of Russia with Turky [sic] and Sweden. With Supplement, containing a Summary Account of the State of the Military, the Marine, the Commerce, etc., of that Great Empire. Translated from the original Manuscript of General Manstein, an Officer of Distinction in the Russian Service. Never before published. London, T. Becket and P. A. de Hondt, 1770.

4to. Contemporary tan calf, rebacked in the 20th century, retaining the original red morocco lettering-piece; pp. viii, 424, [8], ten folding engraved maps and plans; p. 109 with small flaw to corner, only occasional minor spotting or toning; a very good copy.

First edition The Baron von Manstein, of German origin, served in the Russian army, and was an eyewitness to most of the incidents he relates in his Memoirs, having participated in the Russo-Turkish War of 1735-39 and the so-called Hats War between Russia and Sweden 1741-43, led by the Swedish “Hats” party. Sweden subsequently lost a lot of territory. “A work of authority, illustrated with maps and plans. The recommendatory address was written by David Hume” (Lowndes, 1466). “It contains the history of Russia during an interesting period, which is not generally known” (David Hume).

Stylish & functional

This remote holder is great! 5 sections to place things. I have room for 3 remotes & 2 additional things. I discovered it’s the perfect place to store my glasses. I only use this pair to watch tv at night, but previously I could never find where I left them. No worries about that now! My nightstand is way less cluttered now & I don’t have to worry about my dogs ruining my glasses or running off with the remote!

Great for Minimalist Design!!!
Color: Grey
These really help keep us tidy!! The material is nice and it's not so big that it looks cluttered. It's located on a small end table between my husband and myself. It holds nail clippers, 2 remotes, pens, scissors, ear buds, and a charger. I bought another to have on the other end table.

The color and the design are just awesome.
PAID $7.51 After taxes. I was so happy when I received this with the color and the roomy slots for the remote controls that I ordered a second one. I really love the color and design on the remote control holder it is really beautiful. I just couldn't turn down buying a second one that can be used in my bedroom at such a cheap price. I doubt that this price will stay the same for long. I bought this in March 2024.
