A 12-movement suite composed, arranged, and inspired in part by dialogue from Edward O. Bland's 1959 film The Cry of Jazz, the album is a wide-ranging treatise on the African American story from one of it's most astute narrators. Itself an incisive critique of racial politics in the USA, The Cry of Jazz draws formal comparisons between the structure of jazz music and the African American experience - as one of freedom and restraint, of joy and suffering - that manifests in the triumph of spirit over the crushing prejudice of daily life.

Cutting together archive reels from Black neighborhoods in Chicago with live performance footage from Sun Ra and his Arkestra among others, the film remains a radical and prescient evocation of Black pride and it's roots in the history of jazz, from spirituals to blues and beyond.

Does work but very very very messy. Will stain clothes and anything that touches hair. Will get on ur skin and all over the area u use to spray. I used it on long black hair did color it red but need 2 bottles and because its a spray the whole room got a misting of red/pink. If your temp dyeing hair for anything try a cream or chalk or something else this wasnt worth it given the huge mess ( wear gloves)

Visible even on dark brown hair
This red hair spray is vivid even on dark brown hair! Perfect for Halloween or dress up days. Can sprays a light mist of color that you can build up for total coverage. Doesn't have a strong smell. Washes out very easily with just shampoo and water! I love that it is easier to use than color gels and the spray makes it easy to get where it needs to be. Color lasted all day for me.

Fun for hair, but could stain other things
This could be fun for the hair temporarily, but be careful. I ordered the red color. My hair is dark colored and the red was pretty bright on my hair. I sprayed on my ends and it was fine. But, I would suggest wearing something you don’t mind getting ruined because of the spray dye. It could smear and rub on clothing. Also, the spray can be a very fine mist, I sprayed this in the bathroom and that was a mistake. The fine color mist seemed to have traveled everywhere in the bathroom. I sprayed directly on my hair, but it went on the counter, sink etc and it was a little staining. I washed the sink twice and scrubbed and it still looks to have a tint on red still there. So, I suggest spraying outside. And then when showering, the red splashed everywhere too. I had to scrub the shower too. It was such a hassle for temporary hair color fun. I’m not sure I would use again after my experience. It’s fine for fun, but the aftermath wasn’t so fun. Use with caution.
