Interested in WWI history well then this is a good find. This exceptional WWI 1916 Art Nouveau Trench Art was carefully crafted on a Artillery Shell stamped March 1916 ST G DEZ EL25. It was most likely created during or immediately after the Battle of Verdun which was fought from 21 February to 18 December 1916. It was the largest and longest battle of the First World War on the Western Front between the German and French armies. The battle took place on the hills north of Verdun-sur-Meuse in north-eastern France.

It is a large vine/leaf design with a shield on the front and a bird delivering an envelope above the shield. It is a beautiful piece of art and equally beautiful piece of history.
