Chateau Barouillet is a 40-hectare estate, fully organic since 2013. The 8th generation to work at the estate, Vincent Alexis joined his father in 2010 and talked him into bottling their own wines instead of selling them for bulk blending. Soils are clay on limestone with iron and flint in the Pecharmant vineyards.

Vincent says: "I’s 50% direct press Chardonnay aged in foudre, 30% Semillon that has a week of semi carbonic maceration before ageing in barrel, and 20% Semillon from the same harvest as [our pet nat] Splash, left to ferment to dry and aged in tank when the rest is paused for the pet nat. We blended a month before bottling with no additions in November 2020. I really wanted a wine with more energy, more life, and something more original, more representative of what we do."
