These underprints, which are typically discarded, carry rich patterns and textures that lend themselves beautifully to textile art. The top layer of each quilt is made from 100% cotton, the fill is 100% Cotton pin punched wadding. The backing is a custom wide-width blend of 45% cotton and 55% linen, providing an elegant, yet sturdy foundation for each piece.
By repurposing this waste product, we’ve been able to create stunning quilts that merge sustainability with artistry. The imperfections and overlapping designs from the printing process give each quilt its own character, making them not only functional but also visually captivating. Every area of the Dohar is unique, offering a wonderful interplay of pattern and colour.
These quilts are a testament to both craftsmanship and innovation, turning what was once discarded into exquisite works of art. The jewel-like tones used in the quilts have been custom-dyed specifically for the 2024 Khandela collection, adding a fresh and luxurious touch. They reflect a commitment to environmental consciousness while celebrating the beauty of traditional Jaipur printing techniques and modern design aesthetics.
