This GS Mini is brought together by two quality Taylor tonewoods: torrefied spruce and Hawaiian koa. With the model's AA-grade Hawaiian koa back and sides, this GS Mini plays with a bright, chiming profile that is then balanced out by the rich voice of the torrefied top. Torrefaction, a process in which tonewoods are heat-treated to bake out imperfections and impart some aesthetic color, results in a tonal profile that resembles those usually found in much older guitars. This GS Mini plays with a sweet Hawaiian tone and great projection for its smaller-scaled body through classic Taylor X-Bracing.

Its tonewood combination is matched with a slim Taylor mahogany neck. A West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard lines up with Italian acrylic dot inlays for smooth and precise fretting. Playability is backed up by the model's Taylor ES-B pickup system and built-in digital tuner that seamlessly translates its sounds to the stage.
