DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) delivers the lowest friction coefficient we’ve achieved — optimised for shifting speed and efficiency under load. One honest trade-off worth knowing.
The ultra-low friction of DLC means shifts are faster and more direct — but also produce a more pronounced engagement sound compared to PVD. This is a characteristic of the coating, not a defect. If a quieter drivetrain matters more than maximum shift speed, PVD is the right choice.
