Its sleek and powerful design is full of appointments that cater to various playing styles and tonal versatility, leaving no surprise that it is the flagship model in the Music Man bass line. Its roasted maple neck with gunstock oil and hand rubbed wax blend finish is as quick as can be for trips up and down the rosewood fingerboard, and the sculpted neck joint makes sure you can grab up to the highest frets with ease. The original StingRay was the first bass introduced with onboard active EQ control, and the current model carries that tradition with a newly designed 18V preamp with extensive tone manipulating capabilities and plenty of headroom. A single, monstrous single humbucking pickup with Neodymium magnets in the bridge position is dialed in for the crispiest, punchiest, low-end output while keeping warmth and depth within the frequency mix.
