Processed within 5 10 business days. On our day visiting Havasu Creek, I was lucky enough to get to spend a few hours playing in the river and painting. While some of the group hiked up the trail, I remained at the mouth of the creek in order to try and capture the stunning colors

On our day visiting Havasu Creek, I was lucky enough to get to spend a few hours playing in the river and painting. While some of the group hiked up the trail, I remained at the mouth of the creek in order to try and capture the stunning colors of the water. It is full of the minerals like magnesium and calcium carbonate and they turn the color of the creek a spectacular neon blue. I did my best to capture the color but I feel my palette fell short. Perhaps an oil painting could do a better job capturing the electric colors. I loved my time there, studying the river as it flowed and bubbled towards the Colorado. In fact, in order to get there we actually had to swim up creek through a slot canyon in the beautiful crystal waters. Trout and Chubs swam around me while I made my way upstream. I packed my art supplies in a roll-top dry bag to keep them safe while I swam. This place is extremely spiritual to the Havasupai Tribe and it demands respect. If you ever visit, please do everything you can to preserve the beauty of this river. LNT - Take nothing but photos, leave behind only footprints.
