It works great with either water or oil and suits for knivies, as well as chisels, gouges, bits etc.

Instruction (for getting the best result):
Soak the stone in the water for 5 minutes, and then put it on a steady platform.

Step 1: #2000 grit fine grinding, use for repairing damaged edge, suitable for blunt knives/edges.
Hold the knife at an angle of 10 - 20 °(use with Grinder® Knife Guide when possible), grind the edge on the stone back and forth with gentle pressure.

Step 2: #5000 grit unltra fine grinding, a necessary step to eliminate burrs of the edge.
Use more gentle pressure, repeat step 1, and repair the edge until smoothly and keenly.

Use it once a week to keep your blades in shape for frequent users.

Maintenance:
Wipe the surface with wet cloth or rinse with water after sharpening, and then dry in cool place.
