MLS gaskets have increased strength because they are comprised of multiple layers of stainless steel; which also creates the ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton (a flour elastomer rubber based material that is heat resistant to 250 C/ 482 F). Viton is designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. Works very well, and good-looking

This is attractive and sturdy, and tall enough that my cat cannot get over it as long as there is no furniture nearby that she can launch herself from, which is why I got it. The bamboo is tightly woven, she can't get her nails into it. I installed some brass drawer pulls in strategic places so I can grab them to move the folding screens in different positions, depending on where I don't want my cat to go. So it gets moved around, dragged around, constantly and still looks in mint condition after almost 3 years of constant use. I highly recommend. The lightest version is very attractive.

Stands well on high-pile carpet

Great product! Stands up sturdy on my high-pile carpet. Not too heavy, not too light. It comes pre-assembled in a MASSIVE box, so just be aware. The condition was great, minus one spot that looks like the fabric weave was stained. Not noticeable. Kindof a pain to adjust, but that's not necessarily the fault of the product. Just a finnicky thing to get "just right."
