UFO Peach Bowl Blank Ph-429 5" x 9" x 9.5" 4.8 lbs. This is a sizeable crotch bowl blank of Texas-grown UFO Peach wood. It has gorgeous grain and hints of spalting. The color is a warm brown that is rather, well, peachy! There is a bark inclusion right at the crotch that will be interesting and challenging to turn. The off-shoot branch on the back side of the blank is complex and might be burly -- it has that swelling character that often is associated with burls. If not burly, it will still be some very pretty grain. There is some spalting and bug-assisted decay, but the wood has plenty of integrity. You may want to touch up with CA glue as you go. This wood was from a tree grown in Katy, Texas. It died during the Valentine's Day freeze of 2021. We cut and sealed it with Anchor Seal shortly after it died, then let it rest and spalt for about a year before processing it. We have very limited quantities of this unusual-to-Texas wood. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried bowl blank, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed on all surfaces with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying. It has been heat-treated to eliminate any gnawing critters. It was measured at ~25% MC in May 2022. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. You'll probably want to CA glue these prior to turning. |

A special book, nothing else like it
Format: Paperback
I'm a fan. I had the earlier edition of this book but gave it up along with the rest of my large library when I relocated. It was one of maybe 3 books in my collection that I really longed to have back. So I was happy to discover this new edition and buy it. The author is one of a kind. Nature seems to have gone out of Her way to reveal secrets to him so he could inform people like me; and so intelligently and sensitively that he is listened to and respected by at least part of the establishment--he even is part of the establishment--for talking to nature and communicating about it. His drawings of the intelligent energies of plants, trees, etc. are perfect - along with everything else he happens to be an accomplished artist. (If you want, you can find his art online and see him speaking on YouTube--I have sort of a crush on him now.) I try to communicate with nature like he does, and I'm still hoping, but he is a rare special person who could receive this gift and put it across for humanity. And help awaken us. Thank you, Marko. Call me anytime . . . .

Fabulous!

This book is fabulous! It gives a depth to the world beyond what we see. It shows oneness and creative life behind our visual world. The author is a sensitive soul who takes me to the world of living Beings beyond our sight and their beautiful actions that enhance our world. It shows how we must become sensitive and considerate to the life of plants and things of the earth in order to nuture our earthly home.

Absolutely love this book

Absolutely love this book! Echoes a lot of my experiences. if you're at all interested in working with nature spirits, I would highly suggest this book! He offers a very in depth account of his experiences and since this is the second edition, he also includes how differently he feels or sees some of the things he originally wrote.
