We created these NerdyKeppie exclusive designs for "Historically Queer: LGBTQIA+ Historical Figure Enamel Pins", our 2023 Kickstarter. Each pin measures 1.75 inches across and features a queer historical figure, surrounded by flowers in appropriate flag colors.
We could probably write pages about Tesla and it wouldn't be enough. He developed the beginnings of modern alternating current, invented the Tesla coil, and theorized or experimented on many inventions which came to fruition decades later, such as remote controls and wireless charging of electrical devices. Also, Edison stole a lot of stuff from him.
Tesla's name is written in Serbian Cyrillic script as his Serbian identity was a major source of pride for him. He is surrounded by a wreath of laurels, the symbol of a victor -- his theories held up in the long run in comparison to Edison's -- and surrounded by purple bellflowers, symbols of gratitude and constancy, white snowdrops for hope and self-sufficiency, and white plum blossoms. Plum trees are extremely important in Serbian culture; a good house is said to need at least one plum tree, and so we make sure that some plum blossoms accompany Nikola.
