If you need to mount to a square or rectangular bar this will prevent the mount from rotation - unlike a "U-Bolt" base that are designed for round bars.

The RAM-B-108-C-238 consists of a 1" diameter rubber ball connected at a right angle to a v-shaped base, double socket arm and 2.5" base that contains the universal AMPs hole pattern. The mount is designed with a RAM 1" diameter patented rubber ball and socket system that has adjustment points at both ends of the double socket arm; this allowing for almost infinite adjustment and perfect viewing angles.

The included long length double socket arm has the following dimensions:
