The different speeds are separate buttons, making it much easier than the ones where you have to keep hitting the same button to get to other speeds. My other one was too fast & the milk would go all over the place, including my clothes! This frother would make a great gift. I gave my old one to my daughter... now she's coming over this week, and she's going to want my new one. ;-)
