🇯🇵  Lucky Cats first appeared in the Edo period in Japan and their original name is “Maneki Neko” - meaning “beckoning cat” in Japanese. “Maneki Neko” lucky cats symbolise good luck and fortune and is often used as a financial talisman. Shopkeepers across Asia keep these lucky cats at their business to beckon customers and money into the store. Traditionally a raised right paw beckoned money and a raised left paw beckoned customers.
