The Shadow Optimized freecoaster is much more than the next step in Shadow hub design. The performance, value, and strength of the Optimized freecoaster is the materialization of modern day BMX riding through the eyes of Shadow.

The Non-Drive side of the Optimized freecoaster was designed completely around grinding. Included is a completely integrated non-drive side plastic hub guard that easily slides over the existing cone to simpifly your installation experience. Shadow designed a smaller hub flange to stay out of the way which allowed them to create a smaller hub guard that doesn’t need to be gigantic to get the job done. On the inside, they moved to a more reliable bushing resistance system that dissolves all previous engagement issues. Creating a more enjoyable freecoaster experience for you.

The Freecoaster is lace to the Shadow Truss rim, The design of the Shadow Truss rim is focused around the same principles as modern bridge design in architecture. Considering the effects of compression as well as tension, the Shadow Truss rim is designed as a very rigid structure and one that transfers the load from a single point to a considerably wider area. These details create a stronger and more impact resistant rim to keep you rolling.
