Spydur is a 100% accurate replica of the Electronic Dream Plant Spider sequencer which was designed for the EDP Wasp.

This is only offered in kit form, all "standard" electrical parts are machine stuffed.  The only parts that require soldering are the jacks, rotary switch connections, and IC sockets for the vintage parts.  No wiring!

Spydur features:

256 Step notes or 84 real time notes
4 Transpose controls
CV/Gate Output with selectable S or V trigger
Full Size LINK connector for Wasp and MINI DIN8 for use with Jasper (DIY Wasp clone)

Spider was designed for Wasp and although it WILL work with Gnat for recording and playing back sequences via LINK, the differences between Gnat and Wasp with their LINK implementations means that the CV output will not work with Gnat.

The Kit includes:

1x Main circuit board (all SMD parts soldered)
1x IO Board with all parts
5x IC Sockets
3x Trimmers
3x Rotary Stitches with Caps
8x Tact Switches with Caps
3x Top and bottom Panels
1x 9V battery terminal
1x Standoff/Screw kit
1x IM6564 Programmed PROM

These parts are included in the full kit only, these are tested vintage parts

2x 6561 Memory chips
1x 8035 CPU
1x ZN729E 8Bit DAC

Technical Specs:

Size: 25cm x 15 cm x 6cm, 0.7 kg

Power: DC 9V Tip Negative (adapter not included) or 6LR61 (aka standard 9V) Battery

Assembly Instructions:

Main Board:

Solder Tact switches, IC Sockets, and trimmers to the boards.  The trimmers are all the same value.  Take care with IC socket orientation! The processor FACES UP all other ICs FACE DOWN.

Solder processor jumper (8035 if that is supplied with your kit)

Solder 9V Battery leads to the + and - terminals from the back

Remove protective film from the DIP switch and set to V or S trig as noted on the board

Rotary Switches:

Set the key on all 3 switches to position "2" and mount to the board securing with the lock nut and washer on the top of the board

Cut the supplied wire into 6, 6cm long pieces and connect:

  • S2: Terminals A and 2
  • S3: Terminals A and 2
  • S4: Terminals A and 1

Carefully inset ICs into sockets

Mainboard is done!

IO Board

Solder all jacks to the board making sure everything sits flush and even

Insert FPC cable into socket with the blue tape facing up by lifting the lever, inserting the cable completely in until it stops, then closing the lever.

IO Board is done!

Final Assembly

Attach 9x 18mm standoffs to the base board
Attach 3x 32mm standoffs to the base board
(Optional) Remove tape and attach 9V battery to the base where show

Attached mainboard to base with 7x 5mm standoffs around the tact switches and 12mm standoffs at the top

Attach Tact switch cover with 5 M3 screws at the bottom and 2x 5mm standoffs at the top

Attached IO board to the top panel with 2xM3 screws and 3xM2 screws at the big LINK jack

Carefully connect the FPC cable to the mainboard connector blue tape up and slide the top panel over the rotary switches.  Attach with M3 screws.

Attach knobs and tighten set screws securely

Connect DC battery Lead

Done!

Additional Notes

  • If using Spydur with Gnat, it is NOT necessary to fit the DAC, it wont work correctly anyway
  • There cannot be anything else connected the link interface.  You will need to disconnect any MIDI adapters.  You can buss several (i've done 3) link devices together with but a MIDI interface will mess that up so it needs to be disabled.   I unplugged the connector on my JasperIN but technically, you could just power it down and put a switch (to be tested)

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.
