GADNEY, Reg [co-editor and contributor]. Granta. Vol. 69. No. 1240. Cambridge, November 28th, 1964.

4to. Original lithographic wrappers, designed by Oliver Hawkins, pp. 32, including the four-page pull-out supplement Catalogue of the first international exhibition of concrete, phonetic and kinetic poetry held in the Rushmore rooms, St. Catherine's College, Cambridge on grey paper (not pulled out), illustrations throughout, a very good copy.

Very rare complete and in this condition, an important issue of this students' magazine. 'So in 1964 all four of us [Reg Gadney, Philip Steadman, Mike Weaver and Stephen Bann] decided to put on the exhibition which we called rather grandly the First International Exhibition of Concrete and Kinetic Poetry. The kinetic element was partly because Reg Gadney was a close friend of one of the leading kinetic artists in Paris, Frank Malina, but also because in discussing issues of poetic form with Ian Hamilton Finlay and others, both Mike and I had come to the conclusion that kinetic art provided a very interesting parallel track to concrete art and Concrete poetry, not only in that their origins were similar, the origins of the modern movement with people like Malevich and more recently Vasarely or Max Bill … (From Cambridge to Brighton: Concrete poetry in Britain, an interview with Stephen Bann by Gustavo Grandal Montero, online). Ian Hamilton Finlay played an important role in this artistic literary scene in Cambridge at the time. Reg Gadney contributed to this Granta issue an article on the kinetic art of Yaacov Agam, Stephen Bann reports on debates about pop art in Paris, and there is a Semiotic Poem by Luiz Angelo Pinto.

Durable and fun toy
Color: Blue Shark, Size: Medium
My granddog really likes this toy. He is a pit bull mix. The middle is where the squeaker is. Toy is hard plastic and he chewed on it a long time. No damage to toy! The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is how loud it is bouncing on wood floors. The toy I do recommend. Good size and bright blue color fish.

TRULY INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!
Color: Blue Shark, Size: Medium, Color: Blue Shark, Size: Medium
This toy is truly indestructible. I have purchased several toys over the past few months, all have been detroyed except for this one. It may not look as pretty now but it is still intact and still squeaks. I highly recommend for anyone with truly aggressive chewers.

Make sure you get this brand. The look alikes are trash!
Very durable and fun! My Pitbull chews on this constantly and loves to have treats or peanut butter, put in the bottom of it as an extra treat. A friend of mine bought a similar looking toy that was destroyed by her pitbull in moments. This one is better quality and has stood the test of this power chewer. The rubber is very thick and he chews it constantly but it stays in tact. It is soft enough to squeak if he gets a hold of it just right, but that’s the rare treat. The size is perfect for my 80 pound boy. I am also able to throw these toys in his pool for him to dive for them. Definitely in great value for the price.

Indestructible, but maybe too much?
Color: Orange, Size: Medium
Not too enticing for my dog, but, it is definitely indestructible! He chews on it every so often, but less than I had expected. I think the material is so rock hard that it offers little incentive for him to chew on it.

Best I've Tried
Color: Blue Shark, Size: Medium
With my pitty pup, there's no such thing as an indestructible toy, but this has been the most impressive so far. It's lasted days vs the typical minutes his new toys survive. It has a squeaker, but no fluff, and this has been great. He's been trying to get at if for a long time with no success! He has tore thru the rubber portion, but there's still plenty of play left in this toy. The 3 different textures keep him interested vs the hard material toys he rejects or chews on them too long and I worry about tooth wear. Definitely buying more.
