The Music Man Stingray Special Bass Guitar is loaded with key features that make this a no-frills high-performance instrument. Each design element carries out a specific function that only adds, without taking away.
The 34" scale combined with the 11" fingerboard radius make for a comfortable and fast playing experience. The neck is constructed from roasted maple which gives it a darker look than non-roasted maple, while also contributing to the wood's stability and strength. The neck is finished with a hand-rubbed gunstock oil/wax blend process. It's mounted with an extremely secure 5 bolt pattern which stops the neck from shifting in the pocket. The truss rod is easily adjusted with the wheel at the heel of the neck without neck or string removal.
Continuing with the simple design, the Music Man Stingray Special Bass is loaded with a single humbucking pickup built with neodymium magnets. It's controlled by an active 3-band EQ with an 18-volt preamp, and a single volume control.
Tuning stability is achieved through a combination of quality hardware including the tuner, bridge, and saddles, as well as the standard compensated nut. The 22 frets are tall/wide stainless steel, loaded into the roasted maple board.
