With a mediaeval Description of Arabia

[ARVIEUX, Laurent d']. Amsterdam: Steenhouwer & Uytwerf. 1718.

12mo. Contemporary full speckled calf, boards with blind-ruled borders, gilt-ruled board-edges, spine gilt in compartments, gilt morocco lettering-piece in one, marbled endpapers, red edges, green silk marker; pp. [46 (title, verso blank, dedicatory epistle, 'Avertissement', contents and approbation, publisher's catalogue)], 342, [6 (table of Arabian cities and table of contents)]; engraved additional title by and after J. Wandelaar, three engraved plates by Wandelaar, one engraved folding plate of Mount Carmel, title printed in red and black and with wood-engraved publisher's device, wood-engraved and type-ornament headpieces, wood-engraved initials; extremities slightly rubbed, some light browning, traces of bookplate inside front cover, nonetheless a very good copy.

Pirated Amsterdam edition, following the first and second editions of 1717 and 1718 issued in Paris. This work, based on d'Arvieux's manuscript, was edited by Jean de La Roque (1661-1745), who had made several voyages to the Levant himself. D'Arvieux (1635-1702) lived in the Levant at Seyde from 1653 to 1665 and later settled in Constantinople. In 1679 he was appointed consul at Aleppo, where he remained until his retirement in 1686 to Marseilles. This work gives a detailed account of the religion, customs, diversions, etc. of the Bedouins, and includes the description of d'Arvieux's mission to Mount Carmel in 1664. Also included is a general description of Arabia by Sultan Ishmael Abulfeda (1273-1331), which first appeared in French in this work. Abu'l-Fidaʼ, Sultan of Hamah was a Mamluk-era Kurdish geographer, historian, Ayyubid prince and local governor of Hama.

Good quality dog ball for playing fetch
Size: Medium
My dog and family love these chuck it balls to play fetch with our dog. They are durable and fun. They squeak which is added fun for any dog! Regular tennis balls my dog chews apart and they get pretty gross after playing and being left outside. These can be easily washed off and cleaned. These balls last! Would recommend to anyone with a dog and would purchase again.

One Tough Ball!
Color: Blue
Our dogs are loving this ball. Our 1 yr old hound is a world-class chewer and he can't make a dent in this ball. The interactive buzzing and bouncing keeps them entertained for long durations. It's a mite noisy but the barking from the 1 yr old is much louder, lol. Even turned off, they like playing with it and chewing on it. Based on the tough construction, we think it will last much longer than traditional chew balls.

My puppy’s favorite
Color: Orange
Great quality and built to last. My dog really enjoys playing with it and stays entertained for quite a while. The material is strong yet safe, and the included drawstring bag is a convenient extra for easy storage. Is colorful and my become my puppy’s favorite.

If you love your dog…don’t buy this.
Color: Orange
We have a nonaggressive English cocker. She opened the ball every time she played with it. And yes, we are closing it as hard as we can. I do not recommend this toy for any dog! This is a dangerous toy for a dog that is not supervised.
