Published to accompany the work's debut at Whitechapel Gallery, this exhibition catalogue includes installation photography, texts by Olamiju Fajemisin and Alexis Pauline Gumbs, an interview between the artist and Bina von Stauffenberg, and poems by June Jordan.
An exploration of rebellion and transformation, Deadweight features four large-scale sculptural works that reflect the artist's deep connection with the sea and her enduring fascination with shipwrecks. Combining force and fragility, the sharp, angular structures evoke material forms - anchors, a ship's hull, the carcass of an unknown mammal - which also act as symbols of defiance. The title Deadweight, originally a nautical term for a ship's carrying capacity, is inverted by White to signify disruption instead of stability. It symbolises a breaking point, suggesting that freedom might be achieved through abolition.

Different package
I have been using this product for almost two years, and I absolutely love it, especially because I have very dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and well-moisturized even the next day. Over time, I also noticed that my dark spots started to fade. It is a great product, but it does take time to see results with dark spots.
Yesterday, I ordered the same body lotion, but it arrived with a different packaging and formula. I was afraid it might affect the progress I’ve made with my skin, so I returned it and requested the original version I’ve been using.

Scent is off putting.
Seems to be a nice lotion but for me, the aroma is off putting. That makes it hard for me to use on a consistent basis. It is moisturizing and not greasy. It absorbs well into my skin. I wish it were fragrance free. My spots are still with me but that’s my fault.

Best Lotion Ever
